Karachi: During a search at Jinnah International Airport, more than 47 foreign visas were found on a passenger’s mobile phone.
According to details, the FIA Immigration team at Karachi Airport conducted a major operation and discovered over 47 visas on the mobile phone of a passenger who was about to travel abroad. The passenger was subsequently arrested.
The suspect has been identified as Aliyan Zaman, a resident of Attock, who was traveling to Malaysia on a visit visa. He had planned, in collusion with an agent, to attempt to travel from Malaysia to the UK.
The suspect was supposed to pay a total of 2.8 million rupees to an agent from Attock, of which he had already paid 400,000 rupees. The payments were made through cash and microfinance accounts. The mobile phone contained over 47 visas for Cyprus, and one for Cambodia, issued in the names of Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals.
The suspect was unable to satisfy the immigration authorities regarding the discovered visas. He has been transferred to KAHC Karachi for further investigation.
