In the Indian state of Gujarat, heavy rainfall during the current monsoon season has resulted in the deaths of 100 individuals.
According to media reports, a red alert has been issued for intense rainfall in various cities, including Ahmedabad and Surat. Heavy rains have been ongoing in Ahmedabad for the past two days, and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
Indian media reports indicate that the heavy rains have turned roads into ponds and created flooding in low-lying areas. Continuous rain was observed in Ahmedabad from 6 AM to 12 PM today.
Indian authorities have reported that three people have died in various incidents over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities due to the recent monsoon rains to 100.
According to Indian media, 86 millimeters of rain was recorded in the last 24 hours. Intense rainfall is expected to continue for the next two days.
The Indian Meteorological Department has noted that continuous rains have disrupted train services, and all primary schools will remain closed on Tuesday.
