Pakistan Requests Additional Loan from Saudi Arabia

Islamabad: Pakistan has requested an additional loan of $1.2 billion from Saudi Arabia.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the government is actively seeking to roll over $12 billion in loans from China, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Media sources report that Pakistan has specifically requested an additional $1.2 billion loan from Saudi Arabia to bridge a $2 billion financing gap.

Sources indicate that Pakistan already owes $5 billion to Saudi Arabia in cash deposits, while it also holds $4 billion in cash deposits from China and $3 billion from the UAE.
