Over 70 Killed in Coordinated BLA Terrorist Attacks Across Balochistan

Quetta: Balochistan has been rocked by a series of coordinated Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorist attacks since Sunday night, resulting in the deaths of over 70 people, including security personnel, civilians, and the assailants. The attacks, described as some of the most widespread in years, underscore the escalating violence in the province.

The carnage began with the execution-style killing of 23 travelers in Musakhail, followed by a series of deadly incidents. A railway bridge was blown up in Bolan, several vehicles were set ablaze at a Levies station in Mastung, and 11 people were gunned down in Kalat. The violence culminated in a raid on a Frontier Corps (FC) camp in Bela.

The separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for these attacks, asserting that it had seized control of significant portions of the FC camp and various highways. The military’s media wing, ISPR, confirmed that security forces and law enforcement agencies responded swiftly, killing 21 terrorists in clearance operations across Musakhail, Kalat, and Lasbela. However, the operations also claimed the lives of 10 soldiers and four law enforcement personnel.

These brutal assaults mark a significant escalation in the Baloch militants’ campaign against the state, as they continue to target security forces and destabilize the region. The Pakistani military has vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, labeling the attacks as “heinous and cowardly acts.”

Balochistan, a region long plagued by unrest, has seen a surge in violence over the past two decades, particularly following the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti in an army operation. Several armed secessionist groups have since emerged, some reportedly with links to foreign powers opposed to a stable Pakistan.

These groups have consistently targeted security forces, public infrastructure, Chinese interests, and even unarmed civilians, particularly Punjabi workers in Balochistan. Their actions have drawn widespread condemnation, especially for the indiscriminate killing of innocent people.
