Rawalpindi: Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been fined 10% of his match fee for throwing a ball at Mohammad Rizwan during the Test match.
During the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh, the match generally saw positive energy over the first four days. However, on the final day, an unpleasant incident occurred. In the 33rd over of Pakistan’s second innings, Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan came to bowl, but Rizwan was not ready to face him. In frustration, Shakib angrily threw the ball towards Rizwan.
Rizwan was settling in when he got involved in a conversation with Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper Liton Das. As soon as he started getting ready again, Shakib threw the ball at him.
Commentators were quick to question, “What was that?” The umpires were also taken aback by Shakib’s action.
As a result, the match referee has fined Shakib Al Hasan 10% of his match fee for violating ICC regulations and has also awarded him one demerit point.
According to the match referee, Shakib Al Hasan has accepted his offense and the penalty, so a formal hearing was deemed unnecessary.
