Karachi: Due to the forecast of heavy rainfall, the Sindh government has imposed a ban on fishermen going to the sea for the next 5 days.
According to media reports, on the instructions of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Advisor for the Fisheries Department Najmi Alam has advised all fishermen in Sindh to refrain from going to the sea from August 26 to August 30, 2024. This measure is in response to low atmospheric pressure and the monsoon season.
The Provincial Advisor for Fisheries issued a notification for a rain emergency, stating that severe rainfall and high sea conditions are expected in various parts of Sindh, especially in coastal areas. All fishermen are urged to avoid deep-sea fishing for the next 5 days and to move their boats, engines, and nets to safe locations.
