Islamabad: The High Court has requested a detailed report on Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s health and her return to Pakistan from the U.S. prison. The court has instructed that a comprehensive report be provided in response to judicial questions and stated that no orders will be issued today.
According to media reports, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan presided over the case regarding Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s health and return at the Islamabad High Court. Dr. Siddiqui’s lawyer, Mr. Smith, submitted an affidavit to the court.
The court advised the Foreign Ministry’s lawyer to provide a detailed response by Friday, warning that failure to do so would result in everyone being kept in the court.
Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui’s sister, stated that the key to Aafia’s return lies with the Pakistani government and urged the government to assist before November, emphasizing that the issue should be resolved while the Biden administration is in office.
