Tehran: A collision between a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims and a truck resulted in the deaths of at least 3 individuals, with more than 48 others injured.
According to foreign news agencies, the Pakistani pilgrims were traveling to Iraq via Iran to participate in Arbaeen. The bus collided with a truck on the main road between Neyriz in Fars Province and Sirjan in Kerman Province, resulting in 48 injuries and 3 fatalities.
The total number of passengers on the bus was not disclosed. Colonel Abdul Hashem Dehghani of the Fars Traffic Police stated that the accident occurred due to a “technical brake failure” and the driver’s “inability to control the vehicle.”
In a similar recent incident, a tragic bus accident in Yazd, Iran, claimed the lives of over 28 Pakistani pilgrims and left 23 others injured, with 14 of the injuries classified as serious.
