Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has expressed concerns about his treatment in jail, stating that the room he is being held in feels like an oven due to the heat, but he does not seek any relief.
In an informal conversation with the media at Adiala Jail, the former Prime Minister said, “Conditions in the jail are excessively harsh; it seems they are scared. Let the whole of Pakistan hear this: if anything happens to me, DG ISI and General Asim Munir will be responsible.”
He also commented on the state of the nation, drawing a parallel with Bangladesh, where people took to the streets for their rights. He emphasized, “Only sheep and goats can be controlled with sticks, not humans. The military belongs to everyone, and the country needs a strong institution. What they are doing is suicide. People love the military because it protects us 24/7.”
Imran Khan further criticized the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, stating, “The PCB Chairman says the cricket team needs surgery, and now we’ve lost to Bangladesh. What qualifications does Mohsin Naqvi have to be made the Interior Minister and PCB Chairman? Mohsin Naqvi was involved with NAB in 2008. He conducted fraudulent elections and then ruined cricket; the team that was fourth in the World Cup is now eighth in the T20 World Cup.”
He added that “rats have taken over Bushra Bibi’s room; when she prays, rats fall from the ceiling. I’ve informed the court today so that the rats can be dealt with. Similarly, the room I am being kept in is no less than an oven.”
