Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has postponed its rally scheduled for today in Islamabad citing fears of unrest in the country.
According to reports, PTI leader Azam Swati announced the postponement of the rally in the presence of Barrister Gohar. The rally was postponed on the instruction of PTI founder Imran Khan and will now be held on September 8.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after meeting with Imran Khan, Gohar explained that the rally’s postponement was a precaution to ensure peace, especially given the escalating tensions in Islamabad.
Azam Swati met PTI founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail and informed him about the protest by a religious group. Azam Swati stated that Imran Khan directed the postponement of the rally to avoid any disturbances.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar confirmed that the rally will now take place on September 8, and a notification regarding the September 8 rally had already been issued.
