Dubai: Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is a strong contender for the position of the new Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Current ICC Chairman Greg Barclay is set to step down in November after his term ends, and Jay Shah is being seen as a strong candidate for the position.
According to Indian media, Jay Shah has the support of England and Australia. Nominations for the ICC Chairman election can be submitted by current directors until August 27.
It is noteworthy that India’s Jagmohan Dalmiya and Sharad Pawar have previously served as ICC Chiefs.
