Inflation: Prices of Vegetables and Fruits Skyrocket

Lahore: After the surge in chicken prices, the cost of vegetables has also skyrocketed, with inflation driving the prices of vegetables and fruits in Lahore to unprecedented levels.

According to media reports, zucchini and pumpkin are being sold at 180 PKR per kilogram, okra at 170 PKR per kilogram, bell peppers at 200 PKR, and carrots at 150 PKR per kilogram. Peas are now being sold at 400 PKR per kilogram, while eggplants are priced at 200 PKR per kilogram.

In Punjab, the prices of potatoes, onions, tomatoes, ginger, and garlic have increased further. Potatoes are now 80 PKR per kilogram, tomatoes 120 PKR, onions 125 PKR, garlic 500 PKR, and ginger 600 PKR per kilogram. The price of chicken has also remained high, reaching up to 790 PKR per kilogram.
