London: Due to recent racial riots in the UK, 75% of Muslims feel unsafe, according to a survey conducted by the Muslim Women’s Network.
Media reports indicate that the survey reveals a significant portion of the Muslim population in the UK is fearful and feels insecure in the wake of the recent racial disturbances. British Muslims expressed that they felt unsafe even before the riots began.
Regarding their safety, Muslims living in the UK mentioned that they had faced violent situations even before the riots that began in Southport on July 30.
The unrest started following a mass stabbing at a youth club in Southport on July 30, which resulted in the deaths of three young girls and left several others injured. Misinformation rapidly circulated on social media, incorrectly suggesting that the attacker was either a Muslim or an asylum-seeker. It was later revealed that the suspected attacker was 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana, a Christian youth from Cardiff.
It is worth noting that the frequency of attacks on Muslims living abroad has increased, with incidents involving knife attacks being reported regularly in countries like Australia and others.
