Islamabad: The government has made a significant decision regarding passport applicants, announcing plans to amend passport rules for public convenience.
According to reports, the federal government has decided to make it easier to obtain new passports and renew existing ones. After the amendments, passports can be issued from any city.
As a result of the rule changes, passport fees for all categories can be paid at any National Bank branch. Additionally, the process for issuing passports will be streamlined, similar to the issuance of national identity cards.
The Ministry of Interior has sent a summary of the amendments to the cabinet for approval. Once approved, the rules will be officially amended.
