The federal government is set to make a significant decision to include an affidavit affirming the finality of Prophethood in the marriage contract, or nikahnama.
According to sources within the Ministry of Religious Affairs, preparations are underway to incorporate the Khatm-e-Nabuwat (Finality of Prophethood) declaration into the nikahnama. This proposed change is scheduled to be discussed in an upcoming cabinet meeting, where a related summary will be presented.
If approved by the federal cabinet, this new requirement will mandate that the affirmation of the finality of Prophethood be included in nikahnamas issued within the jurisdiction of Islamabad.
This move aims to formalize and integrate religious declarations into official documentation, reflecting the government’s commitment to upholding religious tenets in legal matters.
