Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif stated that it is essential to confront those who disguise their anti-state activities under the guise of Islam. He emphasized that our forefathers, religious scholars, and leaders, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, waged a great movement for independence, crossing rivers of blood, which eventually led to the creation of Pakistan. The need for national unity and solidarity has never been as critical as it is today.
Speaking at the Ulema and Mashaikh Conference, the Prime Minister remarked, “General Asim Munir’s words, grounded in the teachings of the Holy Quran and the obedience to Allah and His Messenger, serve as a guiding light for all of us. The collaboration between the army chief and the political government is in Pakistan’s best interest, setting a remarkable example and a future role model.”
He further noted that Pakistan is currently facing severe economic challenges. The Prime Minister highlighted that General Asim Munir, being a Hafiz-e-Quran, has the light of the Quran deeply embedded in his heart. He stressed the need to steer the country out of social and economic challenges and called for a focus on collective achievements rather than discussing past governments or political leaders.
