“Those Who Do Not Accept Shariah and Constitution, We Do Not Consider Them Pakistani”: Asim Munir

Rawalpindi: General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has pledged to confront any efforts to destabilize Pakistan, calling for national unity and moderation during his address at the Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad. Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir stated that scholars should restore moderation in society and reject chaos on earth, asserting that those who do not accept Shariah and the constitution are not considered Pakistani.

Addressing the National Scholars Convention in Islamabad, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir said that the greatest crime in the eyes of Allah is the spread of chaos on earth. The Pakistan Army is striving to eradicate chaos according to Allah’s command, and those who do not accept Shariah and the constitution are not considered Pakistani.

General Syed Asim Munir emphasized that protests are acceptable, but they must be peaceful. He referenced Allah’s command that there is no compulsion in religion and asserted that no one has the audacity to insult the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He added that if anyone attempts to create chaos in Pakistan, they will be met with strong resistance.

He noted that Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghans for over 40 years and advised against opposing a neighboring, Islamic brotherly country, and long-standing friend for the sake of the Khawarij’s discord. He declared that no power in the world can harm Pakistan as it was created to persist. He questioned the whereabouts of those who claimed to have sunk the two-nation theory in the Bay of Bengal.

General Munir suggested that to understand the importance of the state, one should look at Iraq, Syria, and Libya. He highlighted the lesson from Palestine, which underscores the need for self-defense and strengthening Pakistan. He criticized Western civilization and lifestyle, advocating pride in one’s own culture.

He also criticized criminals and smugglers who support terrorism and the use of social media to spread discord. He acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by our Pashtun brothers and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism and expressed solidarity with their efforts.
