Israeli Strikes Across Gaza and West Bank Intensify; 27 Dead in Latest Attacks

Gaza City: A series of intense Israeli airstrikes across central and southern Gaza has resulted in at least 27 deaths, marking one of the bloodiest days of the ongoing conflict. The casualties include a mother and her children who were killed when their tent was bombed in Khan Younis.

The latest wave of attacks targeted various locations, including the Jabalia refugee camp, Gaza City, and Abasan al-Kabira, causing significant loss of life and injuries. The exact number of fatalities is still being assessed as emergency services respond to the devastation.

In northern Gaza, Israeli strikes on Gaza City and Jabalia camp have contributed to the rising death toll. A separate attack on a house in the Bureij refugee camp has confirmed 10 deaths, according to local sources.

The violence has also extended to the occupied West Bank, where Israeli forces injured seven Palestinians, including two children, during raids on Qalqilya and the Askar refugee camp near Nablus. In addition, Israeli settlers injured a Palestinian woman near Ramallah.

The bombardments have severely damaged Gaza’s infrastructure, with more than 70 percent of water pipes and over 25 water wells in Khan Younis reported destroyed. This destruction exacerbates the already dire humanitarian situation in the region.

In a separate incident in the West Bank town of Dura, Israeli forces demolished the home of Moamen Fayez al-Masalma, a Palestinian slain by Israeli forces earlier this year. The destruction also included a local Palestinian vehicle.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society has called for an international investigation into alleged abuses of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, including reports of systematic torture and rape.

The ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza has claimed at least 39,699 lives and wounded 91,722 individuals in Gaza, underscoring the escalating crisis and the urgent need for international intervention.

“Israel Vows to ‘Eliminate’ New Hamas Leader Sinwar

The appointment of Yahya Sinwar as the new leader of Hamas follows the killing of his predecessor, Ismael Haniyeh, by Israel last week in Tehran.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz declared late Tuesday that Sinwar’s promotion provides “yet another compelling reason” to swiftly remove him and eradicate the organization.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, an Israeli army spokesman, labeled Sinwar an “arch terrorist” and emphasized that Israel would relentlessly pursue him. “Yahya Sinwar belongs alongside Mohammed Deif, Ghandour, Ayman Nofal, and all the terrorists responsible for the October 7 attacks,” he stated.
