Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that it is difficult to immediately relieve poor citizens from expensive electricity and inflation.
Speaking at the Ulama and Mashaikh Conference held in Islamabad, the Prime Minister said, “Salutations to the Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, and the esteemed scholars and spiritual leaders present here. Today, the Army Chief’s words reflect the path shown by the Creator and Sustainer of the world. This is the month of August, and on August 14, 2024, we will be celebrating the 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm.”
He further remarked, “The discussion by the Army Chief today mirrors the path outlined by the Creator. This nation, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, launched a movement for this country. On August 14, we will be marking the 77th Independence Day, a day for which millions sacrificed their lives.”
Reflecting on his 40-year political career, the Prime Minister noted, “I have never seen such cooperation between the political government and institutions. The Fitna (mischief-makers) has played a destructive role in history, and we must learn from Islamic history. There are those who claim to be Pakistani but are acting as enemies under this guise.”
He added, “Before 2018, one party claimed that its politics was about serving the public. After 2018, there was no talk of public service. Instead, social media has been rife with lies, distortion of facts, and abusive language. The Pakistan Armed Forces have made significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, saving millions of children from becoming orphans. Unfortunately, the martyrs are being disrespected on social media.”
The Prime Minister also mentioned, “The IMF program is going to happen, but it is not a matter of celebration. It is a necessity to bring economic stability to the country. This stability will only come when we create productive employment for 250 million people.”
He reiterated, “I will say once again that our political government, our institutions, and our Army Chief are united on this issue like one soul in two bodies. This is the only way to free Pakistan from difficulties and stand it on its feet.”
