Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has challenged the Election Act Amendment Bill in the Supreme Court.
The constitutional petition against the Election Act Amendment Bill has been filed in the Supreme Court by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, through Advocate Salman Akram Raja, under Article 184/3.
The petition requests the court to declare the Election Act Amendment Bill unconstitutional and illegal and to immediately stop the Election Commission from allocating reserved seats to other political parties.
The petition argues that reserved seats for women and minorities should be allocated to PTI. PTI has already submitted its list of reserved seats to the Election Commission. According to the court’s decision on July 12, these reserved seats are PTI’s right.
