Dhaka: Sheikh Hasina Wajed’s son, Sajeeb Wazed, has claimed that the Bangladeshi nation has broken his mother’s heart. He said she is deeply distressed and never imagined that the people for whom she worked tirelessly would turn against her and forget her sacrifices.
In an interview with India Today TV, Sajeeb Wazed expressed his anguish, stating that when his mother assumed power, the country was in a dire state. She worked day and night to get the nation back on its feet, but now that same nation has turned its back on her.
Sajeeb also addressed the issue of the United Kingdom’s refusal to grant political asylum to Sheikh Hasina Wajed, calling all such claims baseless. He clarified that his mother has not yet applied for political asylum in any country and has not decided where she wants to stay. Therefore, he argued, the question of refusal does not arise.
