Rawalpindi: Jamaat-e-Islami’s protest sit-in against the increase in electricity prices and inflation has entered its eleventh day in Liaquat Bagh.
The sit-in at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi, continues on the eleventh day with the number of participants growing daily. Participants performed the Fajr prayer in congregation this morning, after which they were served naan and halwa.
On Monday, protesters continued to chant slogans against the government. Jamaat-e-Islami’s leadership has announced that the sit-in will continue until their demands are met.
The enthusiasm of the protesters remains high, and more women and traders are regularly joining the sit-in. Traders have also displayed supportive banners around the protest area.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in outside the Governor House in Karachi has entered its second day, with the party’s Amir, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, also participating.
