Israel’s War on Gaza: Over 39,000 Palestinians Dead, 90,923 Wounded Amid Intensified Israeli Attacks

Gaza City: The ongoing conflict in Gaza has reached a critical point, with Israeli military actions resulting in the deaths of at least 33 Palestinians in the past 24 hours, according to medical sources. The violence, marked by airstrikes and artillery fire, continues to devastate the region, with reports of multiple casualties and widespread destruction.

Overnight, Israeli forces targeted multiple locations, including Khan Younis in the south and Gaza City in the north. A house in Khan Younis was bombed, resulting in at least one death and several injuries. Artillery fire also targeted the vicinity of the al-Awda school, a shelter for displaced individuals.

In Gaza City’s Nassr neighbourhood, three people were killed and others injured following the bombing of a home. An attack on the Church of Saint Porphyrius, which was housing displaced people, left several injured, including children and women. Another airstrike on a house in Tal al-Hawa, southwest of Gaza City, resulted in casualties, including the recovery of a woman’s body from the rubble.

The Gaza Ministry of Health has declared a polio epidemic and has called for immediate intervention as communicable diseases and skin infections spread across the region. The healthcare infrastructure is overwhelmed, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces have demolished Palestinian homes in Duma and Beit Awwa. Meanwhile, Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has called for a military campaign to reoccupy southern Lebanon and destroy Hezbollah, signaling a potential expansion of the conflict.

Amid these tensions, far-right Israeli demonstrators stormed two military bases, protesting the arrest of nine Israeli soldiers accused of abusing a Palestinian prisoner.

The death toll in Gaza has now surpassed 39,363, with over 90,923 wounded. The international community continues to express concern over the escalating violence and the growing humanitarian crisis.
