TLP Deputy Chief Arrested For Threatening Chief Justice Faez Isa

Lahore: The federal government has expressed its commitment to take strict action against those spreading malicious propaganda against the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa. A case had been registered against Pir Zaheer Hassan Shah, the Deputy Chief of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), for allegedly threatening the Chief Justice following which he was arrested from Okara.

The First Information Report (FIR) was filed at Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station by Station House Officer Hammad Hussain. The FIR names Pir Zaheer Hassan Shah and 1,500 TLP workers for making death threats against the Chief Justice during a protest rally outside the Lahore Press Club, following a Supreme Court decision in the Mubarak Sani case.

The FIR includes charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), as well as sections related to spreading religious hatred, intimidating the judiciary, interfering with state affairs, and obstructing the performance of legal duties.

In addition to TLP, other groups like Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sami (JUI-S), Milli Yakjehti Council Pakistan (MYC), and Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia (WMA) have also expressed opposition to the Supreme Court’s decision.
