Islamabad: A district court in Islamabad has approved a two-day physical remand for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hassan, handing him over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The FIA presented Raoof Hassan before Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah’s court.
PTI’s lawyer, Latif Khosa, appeared in court on behalf of the party.
At the start of the hearing, the FIA prosecutor requested the court to grant them custody of Raoof Hassan in order to recover his social media account devices, stating that further investigation would follow if the devices were found.
Latif Khosa opposed the request for physical remand, arguing that the PTI office is sealed and the case is in the high court.
Latif Khosa further stated that Raoof Hassan was named in the case based on a statement from another accused. The devices and mobiles of the arrested PTI workers are already with the FIA.
Subsequently, the court also approved the request for a two-day physical remand for other PTI workers and sent two female workers to jail on judicial remand.
