Israeli War on Gaza: 15,694 Children Killed, 30 Dead in Past 24 Hours

Gaza City: The relentless Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in unprecedented levels of devastation, with recent reports confirming the deaths of 15,694 children and leaving 17,000 children orphaned. The war, which has spanned over 250 days, has caused significant casualties and widespread destruction across the region.

In the past 24 hours alone, 30 Palestinians have been killed and 105 wounded due to continued Israeli attacks. Among the latest incidents, Israeli forces have intensified their operations in Rafah, a city near the Egyptian border, where five people were killed and 17 wounded in Nuseirat refugee camp. Explosives were reportedly used to demolish buildings in the center of Rafah, exacerbating the already dire humanitarian situation for the displaced population.

Additionally, an Israeli drone strike in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood resulted in the death of at least one Palestinian and injuries to several others. This area has seen frequent aerial assaults, contributing to the heavy toll on civilian life and infrastructure.

Since Israel’s war on Gaza began on October 7, a staggering 37,232 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed and 85,037 wounded. The impact on infrastructure has been equally catastrophic, with 60% of residential buildings destroyed or damaged, 80% of commercial facilities impaired, and 267 mosques obliterated. Educational institutions have not been spared, with 88% of school buildings damaged, severely disrupting the education of thousands of children. Humanitarian efforts are further hindered by attacks on medical services, resulting in damage to 130 ambulances.

Since October 7, at least 544 people have been killed in the West Bank due to Israeli military and settler attacks, with over 5,200 wounded and 9,170 detained. The overall toll in Gaza is even more staggering, with 37,202 people killed, predominantly children and women, and 84,932 wounded since the conflict began.

The Israeli attacks have also led to the deaths of 192 UN employees in Gaza, with several arson attacks targeting UN headquarters in East Jerusalem.

Famine in Gaza Due to Israeli Blockade

People are desperate for food and basic necessities in Gaza due to Israel’s blockade, which has led to an imminent famine endangering the lives of over a million Palestinians. Hanan Al-Zaanin, an eight-year-old Palestinian girl, tragically died from severe malnutrition amidst this humanitarian crisis.

Reports indicate a severe shortage of essential supplies. People report that even canned food is now unavailable. While a few aid trucks have delivered flour, it’s insufficient to meet the needs of the 1.1 million residents of Deir el-Balah.

In northern Gaza, conditions are dire with reports of widespread starvation. Residents describe a new famine where basic foods like vegetables and fruits are scarce.

UNICEF warns that at least 3,000 Palestinian children are at risk of malnutrition. The crisis deepened further yesterday when an eight-year-old girl succumbed to malnutrition at Al-Aqsa Hospital.
