Saudi Arabia Bans Working Outdoor During Peak Sun Hours

Riyadh: Starting Saturday, Saudi Arabia will enforce a ban on outdoor work during peak sun hours to protect workers from extreme heat. The Ministry of Human Resources announced that the ban on outdoor labor will be implemented from June 15 to September 15.

According to Saudi media, the Saudi Ministry of Human Resources announced that this restriction will apply to all private sectors from June 15 to September 15, prohibiting work under direct sunlight from 12 PM to 3 PM. The aim of this decision is to ensure the safety and health of private sector employees.

Employers are urged to adjust work schedules in accordance with the new regulation. The Ministry emphasized that compliance with this ban will help reduce work-related injuries and illnesses, thereby enhancing overall productivity.

Additionally, the Ministry has released a comprehensive guide on work-related health and safety. This guide includes strategies for protection from the sun and preventing heatstroke.

Saudi media reports that the Ministry has also issued a contact number to report violations of this ban, and violations can also be reported through a mobile phone application. The Ministry encouraged the public to report any violations of the new regulation to ensure full compliance and worker safety.
