Imran Khan Gives Green Light for Talks with Government, says Barrister Gohar

Rawalpindi: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has given the green light for negotiations with the government, revealed Barrister Gohar Ali Khan while speaking to the media.

Speaking to journalists in Rawalpindi, PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that the party’s founder was informed about the growing distances and the necessity of dialogue, to which he agreed.

When asked by a journalist if the negotiations were being initiated on the Supreme Court’s advice, Barrister Gohar insisted that while the Supreme Court’s option was under consideration, starting the talks was PTI’s own decision.

When further questioned if the offer for negotiations came from certain quarters or was it the party’s own decision, Gohar said, “We have not received any offer for negotiations. Moving forward with dialogue is our own initiative.”

The PTI leader stated that Mahmood Khan Achakzai and other parties allied with PTI would also be taken into confidence regarding the negotiations. He further mentioned that the talks could happen at the coalition level or PTI could initiate them independently.

Gohar emphasized that there was no other option but to negotiate, and PTI had not rejected this path. He said, “The ice is melting, and we want an improvement in the situation.” Barrister Gohar clarified that their offer for talks should not be interpreted as a deal.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan also stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance is that negotiations should never be rejected, and they should yield results.

Speaking to journalists in Rawalpindi, PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan said that Imran Khan has been briefed about the cases and has also been informed about the three constituencies in Islamabad.

He emphasized that the return of mandates and the release of prisoners are their primary demands. “Our first demand is the release of our prisoners. The government is not showing seriousness in the negotiations,” he added.
