Eid al-Adha: Government Approves Three-Day Holidays

Islamabad: The federal government has approved three days of holidays from June 17 to June 19 on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

Sources have informed that the approval for the holidays was issued by the Cabinet Division.

This decision comes after the sighting of the moon of Dhu al-Hijjah on June 7 in Pakistan, making Eid al-Adha fall on June 17 this year.

Eid al-Adha, celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, marks the pilgrimage rituals of Hajj.

As Eid al-Adha approaches, people have started buying sacrificial animals such as cows, goats, sheep, and camels from various markets across the country.

In addition, Pakistan Railways has announced a 25% discount on fares for passengers traveling during Eid al-Adha as a special package. This concession will be available on all types of trains and classes, including Eid Special trains.
