Pakistan’s Total Debt Reaches Rs. 64 Trillion

Karachi: Pakistan’s total debt has reached a historic level of Rs. 64 trillion, according to a report issued by the State Bank.

The report, issued by the State Bank, states that the country’s total debt has reached Rs. 64 trillion, marking a new record in the nation’s financial history.

The Central Bank’s report reveals that the federal government borrowed Rs. 2.218 trillion in new loans in August of the current fiscal year. In addition to this, domestic debt on the country has reached Rs. 39.792 trillion, a 24 percent increase.

Pakistan’s external debt reached a record level of Rs. 24.175 trillion in August 2023. As a result, the total debt of the federal government has now reached the level of Rs. 64 trillion.
