New Delhi: There is a threat of terrorism in the World Cup matches being played in India, as the world cricket tournament is set to kick off in India after a gap of four years.
According to international media reports, there have been threats of attacks by terrorists on matches being held in the city of Ahmedabad, India. Following these threats, security has been significantly increased in and around the Ahmedabad Stadium.
Indian media reports suggest that over 3,000 police personnel will be deployed at Ahmedabad Stadium and its vicinity. Additionally, the road leading to the stadium will be completely sealed off during the matches.
It’s important to note that Ahmedabad is hosting a total of five matches, including the opening ceremony and the much-anticipated Pakistan vs. India World Cup match, scheduled for October 14th at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
