Islamabad: The weekly inflation rate in the country increased by 0.93 percent, bringing the annual inflation to 38.67 percent.
According to the Statistics Bureau report, inflation for people earning up to Rs 17,000 monthly was recorded at 38.27 percent. For people earning Rs 17,000 to Rs 23,000 per month, inflation was 41 percent, while for those earning Rs 30,000 per month, inflation was recorded at 39.84 percent.
The report states that prices of 22 essential items increased while a decline was seen in 11 items during the week. Petroleum products’ prices increased by Rs 26.02 during the current week. Chicken price per kg increased by Rs 31.26 in a week.
Onion price per kg increased by Rs 2.41 in the current week. LPG domestic cylinders became costlier by Rs 14.04 in a week. During the week, potato price per kg went down by Rs 12.39. Sugar price per kg decreased by Rs 5.91 in the current week.
