Scotland’s World Cup Dreams Crushed by Netherlands in Qualifier

Bulawayo: In a thrilling World Cup Qualifier match, the Netherlands defeated Scotland by 4 wickets, securing their spot in the World Cup 2023. According to details, in the qualifier match held in Bulawayo, Scotland set a target of 278 runs after losing 9 wickets in the 50 overs. Brandon McMullen scored an impressive 106 runs, while captain Richie Berrington contributed 64 runs.

While chasing the target, the Netherlands won the game in the 43rd over, losing 6 wickets, and as a result, qualified for the World Cup 2023.  Bas De Leede led the way for the Netherlands with a remarkable innings of 123 runs off 92 balls and was named the player of the match.

After Sri Lanka and the Netherlands’ qualification, the 10 teams for the World Cup 2023 have been finalized. According to the schedule announced by the ICC, the opening match of the World Cup 2023 will be played on October 5th between defending champions England and New Zealand.
