PERTH: A 30-year-old West Australian female police officer has been charged for distributing an intimate image.
The policewoman has been removed from operational duties and will be facing court.
The officer, from the Kimberley region, was charged last month and will appear in Broome Magistrates Court on Monday.
She has been stood aside from operational duty.
In February this year, an ex NSW police officer narrowly avoided jail time after he shared explicit photos of a woman he had arrested.
Steven Albee, now 29, was working at a traffic stop in Sydney’s west in April 2017 when a woman refused a roadside drug test.
She was taken to the police cells at St Marys where her mobile phone was analysed, and four intimate and explicit photos of her and her partner were found.
Albee then sent two of those photos in a Facebook group chat to four police colleagues.
He pleaded guilty to the offence and was given a two-year good behaviour bond.
