This delegation also included 9 teams who are alumni of P@SHA’s Tech Incubator, The Nest i/o. The regional Awards ceremony invites applications from 17 economies, including Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, China, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Nepal and Pakistan.

Participants representing Pakistan were winners and runners-up at P@SHA’s flagship ICT Awards Program 2016 and were widely applauded for their performance against an extremely talented pool of competitors. The judging was done by industry veterans, tech professionals and renowned thought leaders and VCs from all across the Asia Pacific region.

Speaking on the occasion, Jehan Ara President of P@SHA said, “P@SHA showcases the true potential and diverse talent of the ICT industry time and again by providing them a platform like the P@SHA ICT Awards and paving way for them to compete and win against companies and products that are deemed the best in the region. All credit goes to the hard work put in by these teams and the efforts of mentors and judges who have been working with them all individually since October.” Judges from Pakistan included Jawwad A. Farid, Badar Khushnood, Dr Shoab Khan, Sultan Hamdani and Jehan Ara.

This year Team Pakistan’s performance was once again dominated by young people.  With the support of its partners and sponsors, The Nest i/o was able to take a number of young teams from its current and previous cohorts of startups to give them a unique chance to meet and form potential partnerships with industry veterans in the region and attract business opportunities and possible investment for their respective ventures.
