Hero of Pakistan Abdul Sattar Edhi is no more!

KARACHI: Hero of Pakistan, renowned philanthropist and founder of Edhi foundation Abdul Sattar Edhi has passed away Friday night, TheNewsTribe.com reported.

Edhi Sahab was brought to the hospital after he had trouble breathing and was then put on ventilator.

His son Faisal Edhi also confirmed the news stating that his father left us before fifteen minutes ago in ICU room of SIUT.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was born in Bantva in the Indian state of Gujarat on January 1, 1928. Edhi married Bilquis Edhi in 1965 – she used to work as a nurse – they had four children.

He ran the Edhi Foundation which provided ambulance services across Pakistan & runs shelters for orphans and special children.

To many, Abdul Sattar Edhi was a great humanitarian and his passing will be felt by many as a huge loss. Edhi sahib will best be remembered for his numerous humanitarian works – ranging from ambulance services to shelters for orphans.
