Pakistan Cup 2016: Khurram, Sami score centuries

FAISALABAD: Invertex Sindh opening batsmen Khurram Manzoor and Sami Aslam have completed their centuries against Brighto paint Balochitan in third encounter of Pakistan Cup 2016 at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad.

After winning  the toss, Sindh captain Sarfraz Ahmed chose to bat first.

Balochistan opening bowlers Sohail Tanvir and  Juniad Khan kept Sindh openers quite for early overs. But, as the wicket began to turn slower, Khurram Manzoor took on Gul and Junaid and played his shots openly all over the ground, bringing up his hundred, 9th hundred in last fifteen domestic matches, also the first of this Pakistan Cup 2016.

After his departure on 100 off 69 balls, Sami Aslam who had held his strokes, then began to open hands and played some glorious shots, hitting two back to back sixes to Saeed Ajmal.

Sindh were scoring runs at brisk pace, when Junaid made breakthrough, dismissing Khalid Lateef, and then Gul dismissed Sohaib Maqsood cheaply. Fawad Alam was picked on 4 by Ajmal.

Despite the continuous fall of wicket, Sami went on to play his strokes and brought up his ton in 112 balls.

Sindh currently are 261/4 in 44 overs.

Earlier, Inzimam ul Haq had stated that yesterday that team needs quality openers for upcoming England series, and these innings by Sindh openers against quality bowling attack must attract his eye.
