Data of 50 million Turkish citizens including Erdogan revealed

ANKARA- Data relating to nearly 50 million Turkish citizens, including the country’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has been hacked and then published online by a US based Hacking group.

Identity of the group has not been revealed yet, but it has been discovered that the group has compromised Mernis which is the Central Population Management System for Turkey run by Turkish Government. The website is not well coded and is still vulnerable to many SQL injections.

The Website is using old coding which was last updated on 2008 (after successful exploitation one can see the last modified dates on server files), the Asp.net is still running on Framework Version 2.

According to the source, the Hacking Group downloaded complete Mernis db and published it through Torrent so that it cannot be taken OFFLINE. Hackers have also hinted towards obtaining Government issued Identification documents (Birth Certificates / TC Kimliks etc) which they have no plans of releasing yet.
