NEW DELHI: Google has dedicated its latest doodle to beginning of International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty20 (WT20) event in India from today (Tuesday).
The main round of WT20 tournament will be commence today as former World T20 winner India will take on hot-favourite New Zealand in inaugural match at Virabha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur.
A qualifying round of the event was played between 8 associate teams including Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Oman, Scotland, Netherlands, Hong Kong and Afghanistan.
these teams were divided int two groups, A and B and according to ICC rules, only two teams, topper of the each group will qualify for Super-ten round of ICC WT20 2016.
Bangladesh from Group A and Afghanistan from B qualified for the main round.
The Super-Ten stage is yet divided into two groups- Group 1 (Afghanistan, England, South Africa Sri Lanka, West and Indies ). While Group 2 (Bangladesh, Australia, India, New Zealand and Pakistan).
Top four teams from both group will qualify for semi-finals.
