DUBAI: Pakistan Super League’s most dangerous-looking side Peshwar Zalmi has signed England cricket team’s wicket keeper batsman Johnny Bairstow as a replacement of in-form opener Tamim Iqbal.
Tamim who has scored three fifties in the tournament, has to leave for his motherland citing some personal reasons. The left-arm Bangladeshi batsman may also miss Asia Cup T20 for the same reason.
On the other hand, Mohammad Nabi from Quetta Gladiators, who earned them a blistering victory against Lahore Qalandars by scoring 15 runs of last over, has also left PSL to join his team Afghanistan’s camp for Asia Cup and WT20.
Gladiators have signed New Zealand spinner Nathan McCollum as a replacement.
Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators will lock horns today in first play-off match of PSL at Dubai International Stadium, UAE.
Both sides have won seven matches each out of 8 in the league round.
The match will start at 9 pm according to Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
