NEW DELHI: Indian media has claimed that a bus carrying the Argentina hockey team was hit by a stones in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur, the host city of the Hockey World League finals.
The police is reviewing the security arrangements for the event and has assured full protection to hockey federations and players, reported PTI.
The incident occurred hours after Argentinathrashed India 3-0 in the opening game of the event.
Inspector General of Police Raipur Range, GP Singh told PTI, “A window of the bus developed cracks after a stone allegedly hurled by a child on a stray animal accidentally hit the vehicle, but nobody was injured in the incident.” The team safely arrived in the hotel under police escort, he added.
Raipur is hosting host the men‘s Hockey World League Final from November 27 to December 6 at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Hockey Stadium.
