SANTIAGO: As host Chile made their way to the 5th Copa America finals, experts believe that they can stun mighty Argentina to win the South America Premier Trophy for the first time in the history.
Argentina on the other hand, who tormented Paraguay with a 6-1 defeat are motivated to not repeat their 2014 world cup final defeat.
If we look at Argentina v Chile head to head clashes, Argentina have widely ruled the history as they have won last 27 matches out of 28 against Chile since 1978.
Chile has home field advantage on its side; they became the first host country in four tournaments to reach the final with its 2-1 win over Peru in the semifinals. Since 1987, three of the 11 host countries have gone on to win the tournament
If Argentina turn it on like they did against Paraguay, they’ll be difficult to contain, especially with Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria all potentially running riot.
But Los Guaranies sat back and allowed Argentina to dictate; can you really see this tireless Chile team doing that?
