ISLAMABAD- Supreme court of Pakistan has re-opened the petition filed by Hamid Mir, a senior journalist, on Thursday.
Hamid Mir, senior anchor and analyst, had submitted a petition two years back demanding to probe the assets and source of income of all TV channel owners.
Hamid Mir in his petition had also pleaded that court should also investigate income of journalists as well, and he presented himself before the court to start accountability from him.
Hamid Mir told that many powerful people were annoyed over the petition because SC freeze secret funds along with exposing the beneficiaries.
The petition was filed by Hamid Mir and another senior journalist, Absar Alam, in July 2012 to make code of conduct and media accountability.
Supreme Court judges assured the petitioners that media would have code of conduct very soon.
