Rawalpindi Schools: Compromising Education And Future Of Youth

RAWALPINDI – In Rawalpindi around 384 school buildings have been termed dangerous and obsolete, on Wednesday, which may claims lives of number of students at any time.

According to sources, 150 classrooms of primary and elementary girls’ schools had already been declared dangerous but government had not taken notice since the latest revelations were made.

Sources said that this time government had taken notice of 384 buildings which were life threatening and sought record from the authorities concerned.

Sources revealed that the total number of girls primary schools are 631 and girls middle school are 193, among them 150 classrooms of these schools were declared risky.

Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, has ordered inquiry to investigate as to why the allotted funds for these schools were not used for maintaining the infrastructures of the schools.

Sources said that the risky buildings were now evacuated from students as a result schools are being left with small capacity to accommodate the students.

Parents of the students studying in these schools had also been demanding to the administrations since long to reconstruct the damaged parts of the schools.
