We won’t tolerate even one mega watt cut, says Sharjeel

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Sunday said that stoppage of 650 mw of electricity to Karachi was a conspiracy to create hate among provinces.

The minister said that a few federal ministers were creating hurdles in extension of agreement of KE with the federal government, but the province would not tolerate even one mw reduction in electricity.

Sharjeel in his statement urged the federal government not to cut 650 mw electricity provided to Karachi through K-Electric.

The Minister stressed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take action against those ministers who were trying to create hate among the provinces.

He said that Karachi gave as much as 70 percent of revenue to the national exchequer.

Sharjeel said that K-Electric buys electricity from the federal government at the same rates which were provided to other provinces.
