PTI’s country-wide strike on Dec 18 challenged in SC

LAHORE: The proposed step of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for blocking the entire country on December 18 has been challenged in the Supreme Court Lahore Registry on Monday.

The petitioner Barrister Zafarullah contended that PTI decision of closing the country is unconstitutional and illegal.
He further said in the petition if PTI chairman Imran Khan does not take back his decision and the court does not issue its verdict regarding the matter then there may be loss of lives and property in the country.

The petitioner requested the court for formation of the larger bench to issue stay order on the matter.
The petitioner also requested that the court should issue its verdict to stop Imran Khan from staging protest on December 18.
PTI chief Imran Khan, IGs of federal government and four provinces and chief secretaries were made party in the petition.
