Google Nexus 6 release date, price, specs and features

WASHINGTON: We haven’t seen any device from Google yet this year, now new leaked invitation hints October 31 launch of company’s first device.

Google Nexus 6 one of the company’s highly anticipated smartphone schedule to launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

We have seen the glimpse of the device in some leaked images while rumours and reports are playing their part as well.

Recently the report revealed that Google once again looking forward to co produce the device, just like recent Nexus badge.

Google already worked with LG for Nexus 5 while company rumoured to grant services from HTC, while recent report suggest that company is working with Motorola for 2014 flagship.

Now Codenamed “Shamu,” the Motorola Nexus 6 smartphone has leaked on several occasions so far, and the rumor mill is going into overdrive in anticipation of the big launch, widely expected to occur this month.

A new report from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) now bolsters claims of an October launch for the Nexus 6, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.

“The new phone – code-named Shamu after a killer whale – will have a 5.9-inch screen, a high-resolution display and be sold under the Nexus brand, two of the people said.

An October launch would also fall in line with Google’s previous launch schedules. The Nexus 5, for instance, launched on Halloween last year, i.e. Oct. 31, when the company simply put the device on Google Play and announced it on Google+, without any fanfare.

As the WSJ further points out, the Nexus 6 will be larger than both of its biggest rivals, the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus and the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and competition is expected to be fierce. The publication offers no exact launch date for the Nexus 6, so we’re still left with a vague timeframe. With October rapidly unfolding, however, it won’t be too long until the Nexus 6 makes its official debut.

Reports earlier this year suggest, Nexus 6 likely to feature a 5.92-inch display, not 5.2-inch as previously rumored, boasting a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 498 ppi.

include 32GB of internal storage capacity, a 13-megapixel rear camera with 4K UHD video recording capabilities, and a 3,200 mAh battery. On the software side, a 64-bit Android L will apparently run the show.

On the other hand sources claimed that it will include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, 3GB of RAM.

These sources also claimed the Nexus 6 has a fingerprint scanner, much like the Nexus 6 is rumored to have.

According to Phone Arena, the phone should start selling this fall, before October, and could cost up to $499.99 in the U.S. and €419.99 in Europe.

Just like Google Nexus 5 the device is set to launch with new operating system likely Android L.

The device is also rumoured to launch with IPS certificating, which means it will be water and dust resistance similar to the current range of smartphones available in the market.
