ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) succeeded to hold successful political protest against the rigging in 11 May polls at the federal capital here on Sunday.
The vigour of the participants of the rally was worth seeing. The future course of action of the protest movement has been announced. Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif was informed about the situation of the PTI gathering in Tehran.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan directly monitored the security arrangements and arrival of the participants of the PTI gathering. Surveillance of the gathering was done with the helicopters. Ant-government slogans were raised in the gathering. The protesters were wearing black armbands and caps in protest against the poll rigging.
The protesters also danced on the drum beat. The protesters were also chanting the slogans of “Prime Minister Imran Khan”. Strict security arrangements were made for the gathering of PTI. Hundreds of PTI workers were also deputed for the security of the gathering.
Security was further tightened at the evening time. Police and local administration continuously briefed the interior minister about the situation of the gathering. Walkthrough gates were installed for the entry of the participants of the gathering. The vehicles of the bomb disposal squad along with sniffer dogs were present.
Islamabad red zone area was sealed off by using containers while Rangers and police personnel were deployed for security.
All roads leading to the red zone area of Islamabad were sealed using containers with a wall of containers erected at the D-Chowk area which was the venue for PTI’s rally.
