LAHORE: Nurses’ protest has entered in eighth day with demands of regularisation of ad-hoc nurses.
Yesterday, Punjab government issued notification regarding three years contract to nurses protesting in Lahore. One group of nurses accepted government offer and ended their sit-in and started work at hospitals.
However, second group of nurses dismissed the governmental offer declaring it as false promises saying that they demand regularisation of ad-hoc nurses.
Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that government could not regularize nurses directly according to law. He maintained that Chief Minister Punjab has announced protection of employment of ad-hoc nurses. Nurses will be regularized after three years contract, he said.
