Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that free and fair election is like a back bone for real democracy and the role of Election Commission of Pakistan is really shameful as it has failed to fulfill its duties.
Talking to media outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the PTI chief said that the apex court was his only hope as it expected a verdict for recounting in minimum two constituencies out of four.
He said that the PTI only wanted a recounting which would reveal all the characters who helped the government to win the elections including the man who made ’35 punctures’ in the election.
“35 punctures” is a term used for alleged rigging in 35 constituencies facilitated by Najam Sethi during 11 May elections 2013 for which PTI has a proof.
Mr. Sethi was Interim chief minister Punjab at that time.
On a query regarding appointment of PCB chairman, the PTI chairman termed this ‘purely a drama’ and also said that the government has given fruits to Sethi for serving the government by making huge rigging in the election
